God’s Perfect Christmas Gift

Everlasting Father: Someone To Provide For Me

Isaiah 9:6-7

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” (Philippians 2:6–7)

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,” (Colossians 2:9)

I and the Father are one.” (John 10:30)

As Our Everlasting Father, Jesus Provides:

  1. For our Needs

Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”” (Genesis 22:13–14)

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” (1 Timothy 6:17)

God can handle any problem you give Him!

  1. Unconditional Love

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? …No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35, 37-39)

Sometimes our greatest problem is that we don’t Realize how much God loves us!

  1. Protection

The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (Psalm 121:8)

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

  1. Discipline

And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”” (Hebrews 12:5–6)

“Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.” (Revelation 3:19)

Satan condemns us so we will give up, but God corrects us so we will grow up

Respond to God’s loving discipline with Repentance

“Repentance is a turning away from the sin that ails you to the bounty God promises you.”  Bruce Wilkinson

  1. Security

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” (John 10:28–29)

I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (Psalm 121)

Because Jesus Is Everlasting Father:

  • I am Loved by Him
  • I can Count on Him
  • I can Call on Him
  • I can Live for Him

Being Able To Call On God As Father

Is Not Automatic

“Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ( John 14:6)

“You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus”  (Galatians 3:26)

Making It Personal:

  • What do you need the Everlasting Father to provide for you most right now?
  • What do you need to do today in response to the Everlasting Father?
  • Who can you share these truths with?
