Ken MayfieldKen Mayfield – Media & Communications Pastor

View Church, Spartanburg, SC.

Ken grew up in the Gastonia, N.C. area. He surrendered his life to Christ at the age of 16 and recalls that God immediately put a call on his life to ministry. After attending college in Ohio, Ken moved to Macon, Georgia to work alongside his mentor in a local church.

While in Macon, Ken made his debut into Christian radio. After moving back to North Carolina, Ken became the youngest general manager of a radio station in Charlotte’s history – New Life 91.9.  In his career, he has built or purchased more than 10 Christian stations including one of the nation’s most-listened-to Christian stations, New Life 91.9 in Charlotte (Now K-Love). In 2003, Ken managed 260 radio stations with a nationwide Christian network called K-Love. But soon he realized God had other plans.

Ken was invited to join the staff of a large church, First Baptist North Spartanburg, S.C. He is currently serving at View Church in Spartanburg, SC.

Ken still keeps involved in radio by serving as on-air announcer Saturdays at the Billy Graham owned radio station in Asheville, N.C., 106.9, The Light, WMIT. In 1984, God brought a special lady into Ken’s life. He married Debbie Helms from Monroe, N.C. They have one son, Kellan, who also serves in ministry with Compassion International and as Student Minister at Gowensville First Baptist Church. Ken loves music, adores his family and enjoys riding his Harley with Deb. More than anything else, he gets really excited about seeing people come to know Jesus as their Savior!
