Bio:I have lived in the FortMill area all my life except for two years in Winder, GA, and two years in Lancaster, SC.I have been a member of FBC Fort Mill since 1951, and attended FBC Fort Mill all my life. My areas of service include working in the kitchen for 7 years, being active in Senior activities, and the Senior Choir, being prayer leader in Sunday school class, and presently serving as a deacon. I am retired after 40 years of teaching and coaching, the last 31 years here in FortMill.
Testimony:I accepted the Lord as my savior in 1951 at FBC Fort Mill. During my college years I drifted away from my walk with the Lord and became involved with alcohol which continued through college and into my early years of teaching. During this time, I used my long hours of coaching work as an excuse for practically turning my back on the Lord. In 1967 the Lord began to impress upon me how I was destroying my body (the Lord’s temple) with alcohol and smoking. He did this by having me experience an episode which I thought was a heart attack but tests showed nothing wrong. The Lord definitely got my attention during this time. I redirected my life, became more involved in my church and am now living the best years of my life, praise the Lord.
