Bio:I am married to Pam and have 3 children:Brantley, Brady, and Cory (all of our children are currently in higher education and/or working). I am a VA native, lived in IN for 17 years and have lived in FortMill since 1998.I have been a member of FBC Fort Mill since 1998 and am serving in my second 4-year term as a deacon, currently as chairman (second time). I have led marriage classes with my wife Pam; worked with married couples; and have been involved in international mission work, including several short-term trips to Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Brazil, with an emphasis on evangelism and discipleship. I have been honored to serve on several boards and committees including personnel, finance, budget, by-laws/constitution,
long-range planning, missions, youth and served on 3 associate pastor search committees.
Testimony:I attended church as a child, much to the credit of my mother. She died unexpectedly when I was 10 years old and for 2 years I didn’t attend church. Then, at about age 12, I started again with some friends. It was then that I accepted Christ as Savior and was baptized at age 13.
My lifestyle and activities didn’t always follow this decision. Still, I was aware of my choice and always had an inner voice reminding me of my Christianity. When I married and started a family at age 22, I began attending church again. My wife Pam and I were quite active and raised our children “in the church.”
In 1998 we relocated and began attending FBC Fort Mill.It was here that I really started to experience God and began to understand the imperative of true obedience.I became aware that church activity doesn’t equate authentic discipleship.I started to practice the spiritual disciplines of scripture reading, meditation on scripture, prayer, and discernment of the Holy Spirit. Along with encouragement and fellowship with good role models, I have reestablished my walk with Christ toward His likeness and make it my attempt to be available and obedient to His call on my life.
