Chris Shivel
Bio: I moved to Charlotte in May of 2000 from northern Kentucky. I moved to FortMill in December of 2001 and started attending FBCFM around Easter of 2003. I participate in men's ministry, a turbo group, and am serving in my third year as a deacon. I have been a member since December of 2003.
Testimony: I went forward in church when I was 14 years old and went through my teens and early adult life feeling I was fine spiritually. When I started attending FBCFM I was invited to a book study with a men's small group. One evening while reading the book we were studying, I became convicted by the Holy Spirit. I had this uneasy feeling for a while and I finally called one of the group leaders and asked him to meet with me to talk. He met with me late on a Sunday night in the church parking lot. We discussed what I was going through and I finally went home. I could not get much sleep that night. I was restless and kept praying. The next morning before driving off to work I prayed in my car to yield to the Holy Spirit and start a relationship with Jesus Christ. I immediately felt the weight lifted off my shoulders.
