Brian Mathis

Bio:  We moved to Fort Mill from Stamford, CT, in August 1997 and started attending FBC Fort Mill almost immediately. We joined the church in November 1997 and we continue to live in Fort Mill. I previously served as a deacon in Lancaster, SC, and in Stamford, CT, and now I am serving my second four-year term at FBCFM. I am married to Kim and we have two children: a son, Evan, born in 1984 and a daughter, Erin, born in 1997. I work for Springs Global right here in Fort Mill and Kim works for the Fort Mill School District. Kim and I taught Crown Financial Ministries small group studies on Sunday nights for almost 6 years. We also served in the Toddler II class, and I have served as an usher. Our family loves to play golf and Erin is an avid softball player.

Testimony:  I was raised in Lancaster, SC, where I attended First Baptist Church Lancaster for almost 22 years. I was raised in a Christian home and had strong Christian parents. We were members and regular attenders of FBC Lancaster and that is where I was baptized at the age of 12. I was moved during a youth rally at our church and knew that I wanted to invite Jesus into my heart and accept Him as my Lord and Savior of my life. I was very involved in the youth ministries and activities of our church. I was in the children's and youth choirs from grades 3-12 and went on four summer mission trips during my 9-12 grade years (California, Maine, Michigan and Texas). I was ordained as a deacon in FBC Lancaster at the age of 23.
